KNRTU-KAI at «Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan» Exhibition

07.12.2018

The university presented its developments at one of the largest mechanical engineering international events.

The 18th international specialized exhibition of equipment, instruments and tools for the engineering and metalworking industries is the main event of the Volga region in metalworking and mechanical engineering spheres. This year, 180 enterprises from five countries and 23 regions of Russia were represented at the exhibition. Participants show the products from 14 countries of the world. The events are supported by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov.

A lot of exhibits, developed in KNRTU-KAI, were demonstrated at the exhibition. Some of them are experimental, but there are developments for enterprises, for example, a cooling system for KamAZ vehicles. Rector of KNRTU-KAI Albert Gilmutdinov noted a number of promising and resurgent areas. Among them, it is worth highlighting the engine-building: the participants presented at the exhibition two low-thrust jet engines for unmanned vehicles and small aviation objects developed by KNRTU-KAI.

A new type of engine can significantly increase speed and, in general, expand the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles. Another priority direction is laser and additive technologies developing at KAI, and presented at the exhibition with a variety of exhibits. Also, the rector of the university noted the importance of the development of unmanned and small aircraft, interaction with foreign industries and the commercialization of these projects.
