The celebration of the Republic of Tatarstan Day & Kazan City Day began with the prize-giving ceremony at the City Hall
“We are all united by a common goal - to make our city and the republic a better place to live. It is you, hardworking and persistent, talented and sincere, devoted and loving citizens of Kazan, - the main wealth of our city. Thank you for your dedication, help, love and kindness! Our future and the future of Kazan depend on us,” the mayor of the city, Ilsur Metshin, delivered a welcome speech during the event.
This year the Book of Honorary Citizens of Kazan and the Kazan Book of Honor were replenished with the new names. Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev-KAI, celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2022, was included in the Kazan Book of Honor for longstanding work of a whole pleiad of eminent scientists, designers, engineers, and academic staff.
Each citizen, enterprise, public organization or association, listed in the Book of Honor, is awarded a special certificate and a badge.
