Members of KAI Research laboratory won at AtomSkills championship

VIII Industry Championship of Professional Skills AtomSkills-2023 was held in Yekaterinburg

On June 21, the closing ceremony of the VIII Industry Championship of Professional Skills of ROSATOM AtomSkills-2023 took place in Yekaterinburg. In 2023, the competition gained international recognition, gathering about 2,000 participants from Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Bolivia, and India.

KNRTU-KAI was represented by Mr. Arseniy Polyaev, the head of the competence center "Composite Technologies" and the expert at the AtomSkills-2023, as well as Mr. Vasily Milchakov and Mr. Aizat Bariev, KAI students, the winners in the competence "Composite Technologies".

“The specialized competence center “Composites Technologies” was established jointly with the UMATEX Company (Rosatom State Corporation). Our students once again confirmed KNRTU-KAI leadership in the composite field, by finishing above 10 teams of experienced engineers and technologists,” noted Arseniy Polyaev.

1,732 professionals took part in the AtomSkills-2023: nuclear industry workers, students from 22 educational institutions, as well as teams from large Russian industrial companies, such as Russian Railways, SIBUR, Gazprom Neft, EVRAZ Group, Gazprom, Roscosmos, Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant and others. The contestants demonstrated their skills in 40 competencies, including a special new nomination introduced for students, “Technological Breakthrough: Quantum Technologies.”

For the first time at AtomSkills 2023, representatives of 16 competencies joined efforts to create a wind turbine of small capacity with an energy storage and innovative SmartGrid control system. The work was carried out during the competition, and the final result was presented at the closing ceremony of Professional Skills AtomSkills-2023.
