Purdue Ph.D. Student has Given two Workshops on Linguistics

Postgraduate student of Purdue University (USA) Jenna Conklin has given two workshops at KNRTU-KAI.

 

May 19, 8-10 am "Indo-European roots and connections between Russian and English", "Historical bases for irregularity in English";

May 23, 3-5 pm "Teaching Pronunciation to Second Language Learners"

 

 

Students of "English for GRIAT" course, faculty of the Foreign Languages Department and International Office staff participated in these events. The atmosphere at the workshops was friendly, Jenna shared her experience teaching pronunciation, delivered presentations about the historical aspects of English word formation and about Indo-European roots and connections between Russian and English.

All workshop participants, both language scholars and engineers found a wealth of useful information to further improve their English language skills.
