KNRTU-KAI Students Reach the ACM ICPC Programming Contest Semifinal

ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM ICPC) is the largest student team programming competition.

The team of the Institute for Computer Technologies and Information Protection successfully performed at the regional stage of the XXII All-Russian Students' Olympiad in Informatics and Programming and passed to the semifinal of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest 2017/2018.

The World Championship among programming teams has been held since 1977, it became international in 1990. Russian teams have joined the championships in 1993. Each team consists of three people. Only students of higher educational institutions, as well as graduate students of the first year of study, are allowed to participate.

Grigory Maksimov, Anton Shatunov and Bulat Kurbanov represented KNRTU-KAI. They came with their coach, Head of the Department of Information Security Systems Igor V. Anikin, and Head of the team Rinat M. Shakirzyanov. The competition was held in Saratov on the basis of the National Research Saratov State University named after N. G. Chernyshevsky on October 18, 2017. 73 teams took part in the competition this year.
