The event will last until Wednesday, February 21.
On Tuesday, February 20, in the 8th Academic building of the Kazan National Research Technical University named after A. N. Tupolev – KAI, the opening of the seminar on the digital transformation of enterprises with the participation of experts from Siemens took place.
"Dear colleagues, today and tomorrow are significant days in the life of our university," said KNRTU-KAI Rector Dr. Albert Gilmutdinov in his welcoming speech. "Thanks to our colleagues from Siemens, we organized such a seminar, in which the entire line of the legendary products of this company, probably the best in the world, will be presented to your attention directly by professionals from this company. I hope that these two days will be very fruitful."
The rector also noted that in addition to the two laboratories of the Siemens company for automation and energy which already exist, the third one will be created - in the field of software and product lifecycle management (PLM) services.
"Digitalization is not just computers and IT, it's a completely different ideology and paradigm," Mr. Gilmutdinov said. "Its core, especially for our technical university, is just the software complexes of the Siemens PLM type. This is the foundation. We believe that the creation of such a laboratory will be really significant for the industry not only in Kazan and Tatarstan, but in the entire Volga Federal District."
"As for the interaction between Siemens and KAI, the decision to take such a collaboration was made not at the local level – by the office of our company in Moscow," said the manager of the Academic Program of Siemens PLM Software in Russia and the CIS countries, Siemens Systems Industry LLC, Mr. Vasily Chernikov. "It was made at the global level – by the headquarters of the Siemens company. And this cooperation has been realized for several years within the framework of the strategic agreement. Last year a decision was made to develop competence in the field of product lifecycle management in KNRTU-KAI. I would like to wish everyone a pleasant, interesting and productive day."
Mr. Andrey Slyunyaev, Head of the Industrial Consulting Department, Siemens PLM Software, delivered an introductory report. He spoke about the structure and main points of the technological transition to a digital enterprise.
The cooperation of Siemens and KNRTU-KAI is being conducted within the framework of the strategic agreement signed in 2015 in Kazan. One of the results of the work is the Siemens Engineering Center, which operates in the university. The German concern Siemens AG supports the activities of the German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies and provides scholarships and grants to the best students.
