Degree Programs

Institute for Aviation, Land Transportation and Power Engineering was created on May 31, 1999 by the decision of the Academic Council of Kazan State Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev as an academic and scientific subdivision of the University on the basis of two faculties: Flying Vehicles and Aircraft Engines.

Today the Institute performs training of Bachelors, Masters and Engineers for aerospace, land transportation and power engineering industries in compliance with the relevant requirements. It provides a high level of training in the system of domestic aerospace professional education. The graduates of the Institute are demanded and employed by many branches of Russian economy such as aircraft engine building, aeronautical and automotive engineering, power engineering.

Modes of study are full-time and part-time.

The Institute offers training for the following degrees:

  • Aircraft Engines (offered in two majors: Design and Construction of Aircraft Engines and Power Facilities; Design of Jet Engines with Solid Fuel).

 

Institute of Automation and Electronic Instrumentation

Institute of Automation and Electronic Instrumentation was set up in 1951 as one of the leading subdivisions of KNRTU-KAI named after A.N. Tupolev. It performs training high-skilled specialists for such fields as automation, electrical equipment, instrument-making, metrology and certification, environmental studies in the field of power and mechanical engineering, aircraft and automotive engineering, petrochemical production and other industries.

Since 2014 the Institute has been offering Master’s degree programs in Electric Power and Electrical Engineering jointly with Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany as part of the German-Russian Institute for Advanced Technologies project.

The Institute has close ties with the following partner-enterprises: “Kamaz” JSC, “KAPO named after A.N. Gorbunov” JSC, “Kazan Helicopter Plant” JSC, “Intech (Tatneft)” JSC, “Kazan Plant for Electrical Devices” JSC, “UKBP” JSC, Scientific and Production Center  “Experimental Design Bureau named after M.P. Simonov”, “Nizhnekamskneftechim” JSC, “Orgsintez” JSC and others.

Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Protection

An educational process at the Institute is distinguished by a combination of deep theoretical knowledge in the field of mathematics, electronics, control theory, computer architecture, information security with practical skills in software development, design and database maintenance, computer simulation, development of multimedia technologies, the creation of secure information systems. With the help of high-performance computer cluster the Institute carries out research in the field of air and fluid dynamics, engineering and strength analysis, information protection and other high-tech areas.

The Institute collaborates with the leading IT-enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Institute of Radio Electronics and Telecommunications

The programs of the Institute are designed to prepare students for careers in radio-engineering, electronics, optoelectronics and telecommunications. They answer the industry’s demand for skilled and highly qualified graduates. The Institute closely collaborates with the leading high-tech enterprises of the radio electronic industry of Tatarstan and Russia.

Being a top educational institution of the Infocommunications and Communications cluster of Tatarstan Republic KNRTU-KAI named after A.N. Tupolev provides lifelong professional training programs for the sectors of communications and information systems development.

The Institute is currently implementing an international Master’s degree program “Communications and Signal Processing” jointly with Technical University Ilmenau (Germany) as part of the German-Russian Institute for Advanced Technologies project.

Institute of Economics, Management and Social Technologies

The Institute offers degrees at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels in the field of humanities and social sciences. The graduates of the Institute are prepared for the relevant careers an “enterprise – consumer” chain. Being a part of the Educational Cluster for Mechanical Engineering and a member of Russian United Aircraft Corporation, the Institute is also an academic and methodological center for the relevant educational institutions of primary, secondary and higher vocational education.

Faculty of Physics and Mathematics

Established in the year 2000, the Faculty successfully performs training Engineers, Bachelors, Masters of engineering, technical, economic and social majors in the field of physics and mathematics. During the whole period of study student obtain fundamental education in physics and mathematics with the enhanced training in the field of informatics and automation systems, study physical foundations of quantum electronics, interaction of laser radiation with substance, coherent and nonlinear optics, laser engineering, laser technologies, computer and information technologies and other special subjects.

While training at the Faculty, the students are actively engaged in carrying out scientific research and experimental design works in the priority areas of Federal Programs of the RF Ministry of Education and Science as well as work for universities, domestic and foreign companies on contract basis.
