Embedded Systems and Robotics

Program description

Embedded systems are computer systems with the dedicated functions of measuring, monitoring or control within a larger mechanical or electrical system. Currently, embedded systems are used everywhere: in aerospace, automotive, biomedical technology, industrial and communication equipment, consumer electronics, personal devices and many other fields. Embedded systems are distinguished by structural complexity, deep hardware-software integration and operation within severe environment. They should meet the following requirements: real-time operation, fault tolerance, parallel operation, distributed and flexible architecture, low power consumption.

The program is aimed at obtaining research and practical skills in the following fields of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering: Hardware and Software Engineering, Data Mining, Intellectual Data Processing, Machine Learning, Microprocessor Engineering, FPGA technologies, Fundamentals of Robotics, Cyber Physical Systems and Internet of Things.

Students participate in complex scientific projects and in the 4th semester they prepare and defend Master thesis under the joint supervision of German and Russian professors.
