Grant program of the government of the Republic of Tatarstan “Algarysh”

The grant program of the government of the republic of Tatarstan has been realising since 2006 upon an initiative of the Prime Minister of Tatarstan R.N. Minnikhanov. It is aimed to fulfil the training, retraining and internship of citizens in Russian and foreign educational and scientific institutions. It is  the first regional program of such kind in Russia. It solves two problems of socio-economic development at the same time: training and support of intellectual elite of the republic and satisfaction of Republic economy’s demands in high-qualified specialists.

Today the program includes financial support following categories of grant recipients on a competitive basis:

- Specialists, postgraduates and young scholars under 35 years;

- Academic teaching staff;

- Workers of general educational and elementary or middle vocational institutions;

- Teachers of English language of general educational and elementary or middle vocational institutions;

- Specialists in sphere of information and communications technology;

Special attention is given on the support of talented youth. More than 70% of the program’s budget is given for training and internship of specialists, postgraduates and young scholars under 35 years old. The grant covers expenses for education, accommodation, educational materials, pocket money and travel tickets.

Inside the category "Institutions of higher education" the "Algarysh" program accepts international specialists to hold lectures in the universities of Tatarstan.
