Grants of the PRC

In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in various fields between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities. China Scholarship Council, entrusted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is responsible for the enrollment and the administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs. Now, 279 designated Chinese universities offer a wide variety of academic programs in Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Economics, Legal Studies, Management, Education, History, Literature, Philosophy, and Fine Arts for scholarship recipients at all levels.

Grants of the Chinese Government can be partial and full. They are available for foreign applicants on the basis of agreements in the sphere academic exchange, signed by the Ministry of Education of the PRC or gained the understanding with governments, institutions, educational institutions and also corresponding international organizations. The Ministry of Education of PRC charges China Scholarship Council-CSC the work on enrollment of foreign students for grants of Chinese government and management of grant-holders’ everyday life.

  1. According to the rules of the Ministry of Education of PRC, the language of instruction of applicants for Bachelor’s degree study is Chinese. Students who do not know the basics of Chinese language must complete 1 year of language course. Only after successful completion of the course applicant can start the specialization study.
  2. In some educational institutions Master or PhD students and attendants of further vocational training courses can study in English.
  3. Terms of validity of the grant are determined during the enrollment. Terms cannot be prolonged.

Requirements for application:

  1. Absence of Chinese citizenship;
  2. Physical health;
  3. Requirements to the level of study;
  4. The age of the applicant.

In accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China on cooperation in the sphere of education (9 November, 2006, article 5 (Beijing))  for 2017/2018 academic year students, doctors and scholars from Russia are enrolled for studying, internships and further vocational courses.
