The History of the Office of International Affairs

The international cooperation dates back to the mid-50s of the twentieth century when KAI provided with education students from Czechoslovakia, China and Vietnam. Meanwhile KAI professors participated in the formation of Aviation Universities in Beijing and Nanjing (People’s Republic of China). Later in the beginning of the 90s of the 20th century the new stage in the development of international collaboration of the university began. The university started to conclude international agreements. The scholars and teachers of KAI went abroad for lecturing and research work. The university started the education of foreign students and postgraduate students on a massive scale.

In order to organize methodical work on the involvement of the university into the international collaboration and future development of relations with foreign partners in the scientific and education sphere, in 1995 the Office of international relations was formed under the management of Professor R.R. Agishev. Later, under the decision of the board of studies, Office of International Affairs was organized, which continues to manage all range of work aimed at maintaining and development of international collaboration of the university.
